Pure Blue Japan’s “Waterfall” denim reflects the brand’s ongoing pursuit of low-tension, hyper textured selvedge denim. The denim is woven to a midweight 14.5oz using two indigo-dyed warp yarns. One set of yarns uses a light indigo, the other a dark indigo. There’s a heavier concentration of dark indigo yarns, with smaller amounts of lighter yarns imparting some nuanced contrast. The combination of yarns creates a striking vertical gradation that cascades down the cloth like falling water - earning its “Waterfall” name.
