Woven in Okayama, this exclusive 16oz selvedge denim showcases an indigo-dyed warp paired with a sumi-dyed weft, creating a rich depth of colour and character that evolves beautifully with wear. The sumi-dyed weft adds another layer of uniqueness. Derived from traditional Japanese calligraphy ink, sumi dye is produced using fine pine soot bound into solid ink sticks, which are then ground with water to create the dye. Applied to the weft yarns before weaving, it imparts subtle smoky-black undertones beneath the indigo surface, creating a complex and sophisticated fade pattern that is rarely seen in denim.
