The Deluxeware 1953XX is a painstakingly accurate reproduction of true 1950s denim, created using period-correct materials, machinery, and manufacturing methods. Designed to capture the exact feel of jeans made in 1953, this model reflects Deluxeware’s uncompromising pursuit of historical authenticity.

Woven from 13.6oz dry denim using American Memphis cotton, the fabric is produced in Ibara, Okayama Prefecture on old-style shuttle looms. To faithfully recreate mid-century denim, Deluxeware employs coal-blended indigo rope dyeing—echoing the coal-fired dye vats of the era, where ash naturally mingled with indigo. Corn starch paste sizing is applied before weaving, followed by oven-baking after production, resulting in the unmistakable dryness, rigidity, and rugged texture characteristic of original 1950s jeans.

Construction takes place in Odate, Akita Prefecture, using fully restored vintage Union Special, Singer, and Reese sewing machines rebuilt with authentic parts. Every detail—from the button fly and stamped rivets to the coin pocket and crimson bar tacks—reflects period-accurate workmanship. The light red selvedge line further underscores its vintage pedigree.
