The 6226-D from Pure Blue Japan reimagines the classic Type II jacket with a distinctly modern edge, combining heritage design with the brand’s signature approach to textured selvedge denim. Cut in a slim-to-regular fit, it features a slightly extended body length for improved balance and everyday wearability, while subtly integrating handwarmer pockets into the timeless silhouette.

At the heart of this jacket is Pure Blue Japan’s remarkable 14.5oz “Waterfall” selvedge denim, woven in Okayama using low-tension shuttle looms. The fabric is constructed from two indigo-dyed warp yarns—one lighter, one darker—blended in varying concentrations to create a natural vertical gradation. This interplay produces a cascading effect across the fabric, reminiscent of flowing water, giving the denim its distinctive name.

Heavily slubbed yarns further enhance the visual depth, resulting in a rugged, uneven texture with exceptional character.
